Want to see something scary? I was scared shitless. I know I'm swearing, but that's the only way to adequately express how I felt.

All crapy picture thoughts aside, this is a scary mess of wool.

Thank goodness it became this!

To be quite honest, the yarn it still scares me. Most of you who know me, know that these are not my colors. The red, yes, but the yellow and orange? I swear this stuff glows in the dark. I'm not quite sure what to do with it.

I did decide to swatch it - you can see it in the picture above. I really liked the fabric that was created with the US 3 needles. The US 1 created such dense fabric, I didn't much care for it. The US 5 needles would be great for a shawl, but as you can see, the yarn overs look a bit wonkey. I'd have to swatch again with only 5s and block the bejeebus out of it before entertaining an entire project.

In the end, I'm happy that I spun it - I have 579 yards of it, and it's lace to fingering weight.

School starts tomorrow. Mini-Me will be entering the 5th grade. I'm not pleased with the thought that I will have a child in Junior High School next year, but I'm putting off dealing with that anxiety until next year.

Until then, I'll be following the sun.

(Don't get fresh with me, you know what song I'm referring to!)

That is gor-geous! I know what you mean about scary yarn though. The first time I saw mine look like that I about panicked.

We won't mention the fact that my "child" will be 23 on Halloween. yeah....

Loving the orangey stuff. I'm thinking that would be great in one of those diagonal lace scarf patterns???
